Green Lament

There are ghosts in the corn again
A shivery dance of wind in the leaves
What Spreing had promised as forever
now lays fallow and forgotten
Autumn frost reaps it's blackened bounty
of sunlight and flowers
while the full Harvest Moon sings
it's song of sweet seduction
a call to the slow cool dancce of death
with whisapers and worls of smoke
this world slips into the mext
The sun has abandoned us to the moon
and so we sleep
The art as it was first positioned.

After an October wind storm

This installation piece was the result of a collaboration between Writer and Publisher Marcia Gagliardi and Poet and Artist Karen Powers. It was first installed at the Interface event held in September 2010 held at the Orange Innovation Center in Orange Massachusetts. The peice was then moved to it's current location at Karen's Farm in New Salem Massachusetts where it now resides. An interactive peice of art, spectators became participants as they were invited to attach small tokens and beads onto the framework using hemp twine. Photos will be added of the art throughout the seasons.
